I was a stay at home mom with my older 2 children. It was a hard transition for me to go back to work and have my youngest in daycare. The moment I knew I would be going back to work, I called Miss Tammy about potential openings she would have. I knew that I could trust Miss Tammy to provide an enriching, interactive, play based learning environment for my daughter. Miss Tammy helped ease all my worries. She is an amazing child care provider who deeply cares for each child in her care and their families. I love how she encourages children to play and uses materials that foster their imagination. I know my daughter has learned skills that will help her for her entire lifetime.

My children have enjoyed a wildly fun and educational experience at Kids Are Us. Miss Tammy cares for all the children very deeply and fully commits her days to providing an excellent experience for them. I particularly enjoy the various age ranges of the children at Kids Are Us, as both of my kids were once the youngest and then grew to be the oldest. They learn to play with and appreciate friends of all ages that way. Kids Are Us has fully prepared my children for Kindergarten academically, socially and emotionally. I am forever grateful to Miss Tammy for the amazing ways in which she cared for my children.

I started at Kids Are Us when I was six weeks old and it became a second home to me. Miss Tammy provided a fun, creative, and safe environment for myself and the other children. It was easy for me to come to Kids Are Us every morning and feel like I was with family.                                                                                           ~Ali T. All three of our children have been loved, cared for and taught so much by Ms. Tammy! They’ve made life-long friends at Kids Are Us and were well prepared to start school when the time came. Our daughter loves Ms. Tammy and Kids Are Us so much that she returns during her summer breaks to visit and help out. Ms. Tammy goes above and beyond in all that she does. We were very fortunate to have found a childcare provider that proved to be so much more! We love Ms. Tammy and Kids Are Us!!                         ~The Hollmaier Family Peter 4/1989-1993, Tony 8/1990-1993 and Kelley 8/1999-2000

As a young parent, finding an excellent daycare provider was an extremely difficult task. When my husband and I toured Kids Are Us Child Care Center we knew we were “home”. Miss Tammy provided our children a safe and loving atmosphere that made it easy for us to go to work each day. Miss Tammy became an extension of our family and to this day remains an important part of our lives.                                            ~Peggy T. Ross 4/1989-2000 and Ali 7/1992-2000

How do you put into words the importance of peace of mind when it comes to your children? There has not been a day that we dropped our kids off at Kids Are Us when we ever questioned if they would be safe, have fun learning, and be unconditionally loved. Those things are most important but Miss Tammy also enforces the behavior we expect as our children grow. Miss Tammy is one of the most amazing people we’ve ever met and her passion shines through every day. Not only do we consider ourselves blessed to have her as our daycare provider but we are also blessed to consider her an extension of our family.”

We initially heard of Miss Tammy through our neighbors, whose son was cared for there. When we were searching for a new provider for our two boys, I immediately thought of her and wanted to learn more. Before actually meeting her, I viewed the photos she posted on her website. I was impressed by how involved she was in the children’s day and how much time and effort she put into creating hands on learning experiences and most importantly, creating a loving environment and a special place to create memories. One of the photos that really spoke to me, was of the children (all ages) gathered together, shucking corn for their lunch that afternoon. On the surface, it seems like a simple activity, but one that engages the senses, fosters teamwork, teaches responsibility- and develops pride! The kids must have loved knowing they helped prepare their lunch! For two years now, we have seen numerous examples that illustrate her dedication to children’s development and learning. We notice her calm demeanor and motherly perspective, gained through years of dedicated care. She has a great understanding of child development and has been a trusted resource to our family. Miss Tammy has high expectations, in that she expects and teaches kids to be kind, considerate and compassionate. She never lets a learning opportunity go untaught. Nothing phases her- she has seen it all and seems to know how to handle any issue or behavior.
It is evident to us, that being a childcare provider isn’t “just a job” for Miss Tammy, you know she truly cares about your kids and you FEEL it and most importantly, the kids FEEL it. We love her!”

We met Tammy and her family when our boys played Cub Scout baseball. We developed a great friendship relationship. When I became pregnant we talked to Ms Tammy to see if she would have an opening about the time our daughter was to be born. Tammy would have one. Our daughter attended Kids Are Us from age 6 weeks old until she entered kindergarten. Throughout out this we remained and still are good friends with Ms Tammy and family. Kids are Us is not a babysitter place, it was and is a place your child will learn and grow to develop great skills in education, healthy eating, socializing, love and play time. Our child’s best interest is Ms Tammy’s #1 priority and it shows in your child.

From the moment we stepped foot into Ms. Tammy’s house, my husband and I knew she was the one to care for our child. She cares for the children as if they were her own. She teaches them with care and compassion but also gives them the structure and discipline they need. She engages the children in fun activities such as painting projects, birdhouses for the back yard, or simply changing the objects in the sensory table does wonders. Our oldest attended 4K this year at the public schools, and the teacher said to us at open house, “I don’t know Ms. Tammy, but her kids are always prepared and ready for 4k.”

My name is Teri L. I am a working mom with two children. Both attended “school” (Daycare) at Kids Are Us since they were babies.
My husband and I tried two separate daycares for my oldest child prior to finding our place at Kids Are Us (One, an in home daycare, the other a larger commercial daycare). As a parent, you want the peace of mind that your baby/child is being taken care of and I did not have this feeling until bringing them to Kids Are Us. Leaving my children with Miss Tammy was like leaving my children with a trusted family member. We have come to think of her as a member of the family as next to ourselves, she is the person our children spent the most time with from babies to age 5.
As a new parent, I can honestly say that I learned a lot from Miss Tammy. We adopted her schedule and routines at home which worked for us. Her patience with the children is amazing and to this day I still marvel at her ability to watch numerous children at various ages with ease. The children learn the routine and know what is expected of them. They learn, explore and flourish under Miss Tammy’s care. It is not just a person “watching” your child but a place for them to learn and grow.
Kids Are Us is a fun place for your child to spend the day. Miss Tammy plans activities and crafts as well as special visitors that come in: Santa Claus & a fireman! Our favorite time of year was the annual Christmas program where all the parents attended to watch the children sing. Last year was our first year we did not go in 7 years and I was tempted to ask if we could still come and watch!
I also want to mention that my children now going into 1st and 3rd grade made lifetime friends at Miss Tammy’s. Both of my children attend school outside of Oshkosh but met their best friends at Miss Tammy’s. They each had a friend the same age and attended 4K in Oshkosh with them. To this day we still plan playdates and keep up to date with these families as well as with Miss Tammy.
Some of my children’s fondest memories come from being at Miss Tammy’s: playing with friends, riding bikes outside, sidewalk chalk, walks, Holiday parties and more. They learned to respect and be kind to pets, they learned to LOVE all vegetables, to share, to be good helpers and to be good role models for the younger children.
I could go on and on about why choosing Kids Are Us was one of the best decisions we made as parents. Miss Tammy made an impact on our children and our family and I would not trade that experience for anything. I volunteer myself as a lifetime reference for Miss Tammy and Kids Are Us. Feel free to contact me with any questions!

Undoubtedly one of the hardest challenges working parents face is the decision about child care. For my husband and I, Kid Are Us was the right choice for many years. A safe and secure home environment that provided the kind of care that met all our needs: Flexible (within reason) pick up and drop off times; small in size; active and age-appropriate learning; healthy snacks and delicious home-made meals; time to play; time to rest; a healthy balance of love and discipline and regular, detailed communication with the caregiver. I truly never had to worry about them. My boys are now 21 and 17 and they still talk about Tammy’s tuna salad sandwiches. And they still never eat mine!                                                  ~MB Leib – Max started 10/93 Noah started 9/97 through 1999

Kids Are Us Family Child Care is a great facility were our son was cared for until he went to 1st grade. We never worried about him while we were working and he was loved and cared for by not only Tammy, but her whole family. The fact that, in addition to child care, Kids Are Us provided Preschool lessons and activities, was a big plus for us. It meant we did not have to take our son to Preschool at another location. We feel very blessed to be able to say that our son was a part of the Kids Are Us Family Child Care Family

Kids Are Us Family Child Care provided peace of mind for my husband and I. We knew our children were in a safe, fun, educational, and creative environment. Our son’s first experience in daycare was not a good one so when we found Kids Are Us and could see how much care was given to him, we were so happy. Our daughter then too went to Kids Are Us and both just loved Miss Tammy. We were always so impressed with how Tammy had everything under control. The kids were always given nutritious meals and experienced a lot of fun, but also structured play times. She was also very creative and had the kids doing great projects. Our kids still talk about Miss Tammy!

Kids Are Us Family Child Care was recommended to me by a co-worker. She had nothing but wonderful things to say. When I went for a site visit, I was truly disappointed that Jovian could not get in until she was nearly seven months old. I made preparations for her to attend another child care center until Miss Tammy could take her. Just a month or two before my due date, Miss Tammy called to say she had an open for a baby immediately. My husband said I was the happiest he had seen me. I was giddy. He couldn’t understand because he had not met her yet. While I was on maternity leave, Miss Tammy invited us three to the Kids Are Us Christmas program. To invite us and have Jovian be a part of the program and her child care family meant so much to us. It was at that moment my husband understood why I was so happy to have Jovian there. My feelings have not changed because when I as drop her off there is a smile, and when I pick her up, there is still a smile.

It is an honor to comment on Tammy Dannhoff and Kids Are Us Family Child Care, even though it has been over 20 years since our son attended. We found Kids Are Us via an ad, had an interview, and took the open spot, on the spot, for our 2 year old son, as that is how immediate the connection was when we met Tammy and toured her facilities. We didn’t even feel the need to check her references.

For the first week of his time with Tammy, Alex cried when we picked him up because he didn’t want to leave the kids and family atmosphere. The creative way in which she inspired the kids to play and learn, the projects she did, the fun weeks she had (colors, words, and themes) made each day there an adventure, which was exactly what we were hoping for in regards to the care of our curious child. We were never disappointed in our experience; in fact the only disappointment we ever had was not being able to have our daughter spend time at Kids Are Us as well. We have fond memories of the kids, the activities, and the connection that Tammy made with our son, and we would recommend Tammy to anyone, even as time removed as we are.

Kids Are Us family childcare was a great fit for our daughter, Lauren. Miss Tammy was like a second “mom” to her and she loved attending the daycare. When I dropped her off, I knew her day would be filled with friends, fun, nutritious meals, all while attending a childcare that was in a preschool setting. And she would get a hug when she needed one! Lauren especially enjoyed playing outside, the walks, field trips and yearly visits from Santa!! We will be forever grateful to Miss Tammy for taking such good care of her and would highly recommend Kids Are Us!
