About Us

Hi, my name is Tammy Dannhoff and I’m the owner/provider of Kids Are Us Family Child Care.

My Husband Allyn and I got married in 1984. We have 2 grown children Zach and Heather. We are grandparents to Morgen and Wesley and LOVE it!!

I started child care when we were looking for care for our own children. Our search led to my career! I thought, I’ll stay home watch a couple of children and it just blossomed!! Kids Are Us became licensed by the State of Wisconsin in January 1989.

After a few years I realized I really LOVED what I was doing and wanted to learn more so I went back to college and got my Associates Degree in Early childhood Education, took me a awhile, but I graduated in 2000, with high honors!!

I have always prided myself on staying up to date on Early Childhood issues and a few years back started transitioning my program to a PLAY based program. I strongly feel that children need to do things on their own with minimal guidance. That is how they develop their imaginations. I do educational activities with the children do not get me wrong, I just tend to let our activities be child led!

After my Family Child Care closes for the day and on weekends, I like to
go camping, boating, maintain our flower beds, spend time with my
family, especially Morgen and Wesley and our 2 St. Bernard’s; Rayne,
Gigi who is blind (from birth) and Groot
